Own West Virginia public information strategy and public engagement for the agency by shaping messaging, content approvals, and analytics-driven improvements across channels.

• Establish agency-wide messaging priorities and communication strategies.
• Advise executive leadership on communication approaches that strengthen public engagement and support WVDNR's mission.
• Develop annual outreach and communication plans, including goals, timelines, and performance benchmarks.
• Approve all content distributed across media platforms, including digital, print, broadcast, and social media.
• Authorize press releases, public statements, talking points, and event-related communications.
• Ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with agency priorities.
• Direct digital communication strategies, including website content, social media engagement, and online campaigns.
• Use analytics to set performance goals, evaluate communication effectiveness, and guide improvements.
• Oversee development of digital tools, templates, and communication resources.
• Select, manage, and evaluate communication-related vendors and service providers.
