Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create content for multiple platforms to grow ABC News’ audience and deepen engagement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to produce high-quality, distinctive, shareable content for third-party platforms.
  • Provide editorial guidance and moderation support to ABC News social teams.
  • Help deliver social media strategies, tactics, and outputs aligned with ABC News’ digital goals.
  • Advise ABC News leaders on social coverage and distribution plans for special events and projects.
  • Engage communities to discover and tell relevant stories that fit the News strategy

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience creating social media strategies and campaigns
  • Strong editorial and research skills and an up-to-date knowledge of digital media trends
  • Advanced skills across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and YouTube
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills; work well under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative across teams
  • Passion for telling diverse Australian stories and proven ability to build and maintain community contacts
