Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Full P&L ownership of a large annual revenue generating product category including seeking and implementing new and differentiated technologies as well as being an early identifier of key trends and market shifts to determine and execute strategies for long-term top and bottom-line growth.
  • Must possess robust financial acumen for in-depth analysis and identification of value drivers while being a substantial signing authority.
  • Leverage end user insights to create the vision for the category, across the existing portfolio of products as well as innovation, define concrete tactics and execution plans by channel/end user, guide decision making for the customer line review process (and supporting promotional strategies) with demonstrated rationale for optimal brand/assortment.
  • Develop solid business strategy to set the vision and priorities for holistic brand plans on a worldwide basis, brand guidelines and enforce across packaging, communications, and presentations while working with communications team to prioritize investment and execute key campaigns for high priority initiatives.
  • Leverage end user, market, and competitive insights to guide innovation in support of overall category growth and profitability goals.
  • Lead cross functional NPI/NPD projects relative to product line extensions and enhancements, collaborate with Innovation team to identify needs, prioritize projects, and inform key parameters innovation efforts, utilize financial acumen to ensure new product strategies align with cost targets.
  • Manage the product life cycle of the full category portfolio to maximize growth while balancing manufacturing efficiency, profitability, and inventory optimization.
  • Integrate merchandising tactics and programs as part of strategy to achieve category goals and include cross functional team leadership to explore innovative methods, materials, and messaging to maximize effectiveness.
  • Develop strategies to ensure team is consistently engaged in packaging trends with a focus on forward-looking sustainability initiatives both in product and production process.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing/sourcing to optimize supply chain opportunities and cultivate high quality sources of supply and build long-term relationships with our vendor partners.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing major and MBA preferred
  • Complete P&L understanding from product cost analysis to financial assessment of the overall business
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and Analytic tools
  • Strong presentation skills, verbal and written
  • Strong strategic, marketing, analytic, planning/execution, motivation, communication (both written and verbal) and advocacy/diplomacy skills are routinely required in order to succeed in this highly visible, challenging position
  • Entrepreneurial drive to take a business into new, uncharted territory
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams of people
  • Understanding of corporate strategic planning process
  • Motivation to get the job done to exceed performance standards
  • Ability to travel overnight 10-20% of the time
