Job Summary

Own and scale BFS marketing from strategy to campaigns and analytics, with the chance to build a team as the business grows, and to launch Forecast Pro Cloud while integrating demand-gen across desktop and cloud products.

  • Own full marketing function, including positioning, agencies, campaigns, and reporting.
  • Lead go-to-market, demand generation, and product launches with potential for team-building.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • You will own marketing at BFS — the plan, the budget, the agencies, and the results.
  • You'll set strategy and then go execute it, because in the first stretch, you’ll be the person driving the full marketing function.
  • As the business scales, you'll have an opportunity to build a team and function around you.
  • you'll own the whole function: writing the positioning, briefing the agencies, holding them to their numbers, building the campaigns, and reporting the results.
  • You'll report to the Chief Growth Officer.
  • Your first year Launch Forecast Pro Cloud. Positioning, messaging, launch campaigns, websites, sales enablement, and the demand engine behind it — for a product that opens new opportunities with larger organizations.
  • You’ll also step into an established business that still needs to grow: our desktop products serve a steady stream of demand planners at small and mid-sized manufacturers and distributors. These customers remain a vital part of our business and must continue to be well supported as we launch.
  • Marketing strategy & planning (~25%) - Define positioning and messaging for a two-product portfolio serving different buyers — the solo planner escaping spreadsheets and the enterprise supply chain team.
  • Establish clear go-to-market strategies, including market segmentation, customer targeting and the resulting demand-generation priorities, differentiation against competing tools, and portfolio positioning strategies.
  • Develop buyer personas and segment-specific messaging in partnership with sales and product and translate them into campaigns with clear goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • 5–7+ years of B2B marketing experience, including ownership of significant programs or budgets and demonstrated success driving business growth and product expansion.
  • Demonstrably hands-on. You've personally written the copy, built the campaign, and pulled the report.
  • Hands-on experience with paid search, paid social, B2B websites, landing pages, and conversion optimization.
  • Direct experience working with agencies — briefing them, reviewing their work, and holding them accountable. You can open an SEM account and form your own opinion rather than taking the dashboard at face value.
  • Real demand generation results in a considered-purchase B2B environment with a multi-week or multi-month sales cycle.
  • Involvement in a product launch — ideally SaaS, ideally into an existing customer base. You don't need to have led one; you need to know how they work.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, this market buys on credibility, and credibility here is written, with analytical and financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Comfort with marketing automation and CRM, and enough analytical rigor to defend a budget with numbers.
  • Appetite for the scope. This is more ownership than most people have had at this stage, and we're looking for someone who wants that.

Preferred

  • Experience marketing technical or analytical software to practitioners in supply chain, operations, manufacturing, or distribution.
  • Experience marketing both a desktop/perpetual product and a SaaS subscription — including the transition between them.
  • Account-based marketing experience with tools such as Apollo, ZoomInfo, and partner/channel marketing experience.
  • Having worked at a small company, with a clear-eyed view of what that requires.

Benefits

  • Health & dental insurance
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation per year
  • Flexible Spending Account
  • Long-term disability insurance
