Job Summary

A senior marketing leader will guide Merrick’s Creative and Content teams and own enterprise brand standards. The role emphasizes cross-BU collaboration, strategic planning, and resource management to support MARCOM initiatives. A strong background in marketing leadership within technical industries and clear communication skills are required, along with Colorado residency.

Responsibilities

  • Team Strategy & Leadership: Collaborate with and provide input to Department Leader on Department’s annual business plan and budget Cascade the Department’s vision and goals to the Creative and Content team members through goal setting and marketing activities Lead, develop, mentor, and empower the Creative and Content team members for their professional growth aligned with Department goals and career paths
  • Brand Management & Creative Direction Provide high-level strategy, guidance and oversight of the creation and implementation of marketing and communication projects Bring innovative ideas to the marketing team’s process and deliverables Own and evolve enterprise-wide brand standards across multiple platforms: website, social media, printed/digital marketing collateral, business development events, etc. Guide marketing policies and procedures, including team review and approval processes Lead and/or participate in strategic brainstorming sessions as appropriate Ensure marketing team is consistent in branded materials Partner with Proposal Director to ensure alignment and consistency in brand and messaging in proposals
  • Communications Direct the overall tone and voice of Merrick content- written or visual - to align with Merrick brand, working closely with Content and Creative Managers Ensure corporate communications support for the executive leadership team Partner with Business Units and Departments on internal/external communications strategy
  • Cross-Business Unit Strategic Marketing Support Collaborate and partner with Business Units/Departments by leading monthly tag up meetings Lead MARCOM-related training efforts for Business Units/Departments or internal training program requests Maintain understanding of Business Units’ strategy to align MARCOM activities Support market positioning and specific Business Unit strategies Monitor competitive landscape in our focused markets
  • Resource Management Manage and monitor overall MARCOM team workload and resources to meet company requests Guide Creative and Content Managers on team workload management and project assignments Partner with and manage consultant/vendor relationships for surge or special project needs Successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will be a team player, enthusiastic about leading a team, and is forward thinking.

Requirements

  • 10 years of marketing in the AEC industry or similar industry preferred
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience required
  • Strong team leadership, capable in developing and motivating team members
  • Skilled in strategic thinking
  • Ability to lead enterprise-wide, corporate-funded projects and initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expertise in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
  • Bachelors in Business, Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field; MBA or relevant Masters degree preferred
  • Certified Professional Servies Marketer (CPSM) or pursuit of certification
  • Public Relations Society of America certification, optional
  • Ability to travel 5-10% to conferences, branch offices, and company events
  • Candidates must be located in Colorado
  • Must have current experience in corporate or in-house marketing environment experience. Freelance, agency or independent consulting experience is not sufficient.
  • Client projects for this position require US Citizenship

Preferred

  • Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) or pursuit of certification
  • Public Relations Society of America certification, optional
  • MBA or relevant Masters degree preferred
  • Global experience preferred
