Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead integrated communications and marketing strategies aligned with organizational priorities and goals.
  • Strengthen The Food Trust’s brand, messaging, positioning and visibility locally, regionally and nationally.
  • Develop audience-focused campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, participation and support.
  • Lead media and public relations efforts, including cultivating media relationships, responding to inquiries and identifying opportunities to showcase The Food Trust’s expertise and impact.
  • Oversee the development of compelling print and digital content, including newsletters, publications, reports, website content, email communications, social media, presentations and marketing materials.
  • Provide strategic oversight of The Food Trust’s website, Online Learning Hub and other digital platforms.
  • Use digital and marketing analytics to evaluate performance, understand audience engagement and continuously improve communications strategies.
  • Partner with Development to support fundraising, donor engagement, sponsorships and campaign communications.
  • Collaborate with program teams to develop marketing strategies that increase awareness, participation and program growth.
  • Support senior leaders and subject matter experts with messaging, presentations, talking points, media interviews and other high-impact communications.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field, including demonstrated leadership experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; a graduate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong experience developing and implementing integrated communications and marketing strategies across multiple audiences and channels.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex topics into clear and compelling content.
  • Experience with brand strategy, audience development, messaging and integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Experience using communications, digital and marketing analytics to measure performance and inform strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines while coordinating across teams and external partners.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, including the ability to coach and develop staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, senior leaders, partners, media and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with digital communications and marketing tools, including website content management systems, email marketing, social media management and analytics platforms.
