Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plan and run paid campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube, display) for exhibits, Signature Public Programs, and the visitation pathway
  • Own conversion tracking, UTM taxonomy, and GA4 event configuration; today's automated bidding performs only as well as the signals it's fed, and keeping those signals clean and reconciled against real ticket sales, memberships, and donations is this role's core craft — no campaign launches without complete tracking
  • Turn ongoing research, collections, and publishing work into content: social posts, targeted boosts, email features, and earned-media support
  • Run the email program: monthly newsletter, list growth, segmentation, engagement
  • Run structured tests with defined success criteria and document the learnings
  • Define conversion events and UTM standards with the Digital Developer so campaign data lands clean in the Museum's analytics
  • Oversee select traditional-channel deliverables with the VP of Advancement and Marketing Communications
  • Track shifts in privacy, platform automation, and discovery behavior; perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Experience owning both campaign execution and measurement
  • Experience with hands-on GA4 and Google Tag Manager configuration
  • Fluency with automated campaign platforms and how conversion signal quality drives their performance
  • Understanding of digital marketing attribution and the limitations of platform-reported performance metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate when paid advertising is the appropriate strategy and when alternative marketing approaches may be more effective.
  • Working knowledge of structured data, metadata, and indexing fundamentals
  • Proficiency with CRM, email platforms, and content management systems

Preferred

  • Experience developing customized solutions, such as scripts, integrations, or reports, when existing tools do not meet business needs.
  • Working knowledge of how machine learning and automated features within digital marketing platforms, including bidding, audience targeting, and recommendation systems, influence campaign performance.
  • Experience integrating marketing platforms or tools using APIs.
  • Experience developing and managing email marketing lifecycle campaigns using Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, including the ability to create or modify basic landing pages.
  • Experience translating research, scientific, cultural, or other specialized content for general audiences.
  • Graphic design experience or proficiency with commonly used graphic design tools.
  • Experience working within nonprofit, cultural, research, museum, attractions, tourism, or related organizations.
