Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative messaging and strategies to advance agency goals across social media channels;
  • Stay up to date on both current social media trends as well as the agency’s press initiatives;
  • Coordinate with other departments within the agency for the production of social media content highlighting their work;
  • Produce engaging video and image content highlighting the work of different departments;
  • Write creative and compelling copy for social media;
  • Offer guidance on copy for marketing materials, press materials, and other multimedia projects across other communications channels;
  • Monitor and maintain the agency’s social media profiles;
  • Other related duties

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above;
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Preferred

  • Outstanding creativity and sense of humor - A proven track record in developing and executing creative strategies on social media
  • Proficiency in writing for digital communications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how to creatively use communications platforms to build engagement and advance goals
  • An ability to work independently and in collaboration with colleagues in a fast-paced environment
  • 2+ years of experience in creative strategy, social media, advertising, or marketing preferred
  • Experience with commonly used video and image editing programs is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field preferred
