Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Run social media strategy aligned with research, fundraising campaigns, and organizational priorities
  • Capture, create, edit, and publish content (photo, video, graphics, written posts) across all channels
  • Handle day-to-day community engagement: respond to comments and messages, build relationships with patients, donors, researchers, and advocates
  • Maintain the digital content calendar
  • Track performance metrics and deliver monthly reporting and insights
  • Manage and update GLA's website (HubSpot), keeping content accurate, timely, and SEO-optimized
  • Produce blog posts, research summaries, newsletters, and patient stories aligned with our messaging
  • Translate scientific and medical information into accessible, audience-friendly content
  • Maintain a digital asset library of photos, videos, testimonials, and research materials
  • Build content and digital assets for fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing Committee and Development team

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in content creation, digital marketing, or social media management (nonprofit or healthcare experience strongly preferred)
  • Ability to understand and communicate scientific or medical concepts clearly
  • Experience in scientific writing, health communications, or research-based content strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Hubspot, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media management platforms
  • Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Familiarity with podcast post-production tools (Descript) a plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the range to shift tone across patients, donors, and researchers
  • Genuine interest in health, science, and patient advocacy
