Job Description

Volunteer for a startup ensuring every child is ready to thrive in kindergarten! 🍎 Agnes Youth & Family Center provides high-quality, accessible early education and holistic family supports to prepare children in Buffalo for a successful transition to school. In Erie County, nearly 30% of children enter kindergarten without the foundational literacy, math, and social-emotional skills they need to succeed. This gap is fueled by a regional childcare shortage and systemic barriers; currently, 42% of local families live below the survival threshold, struggling to afford essentials like food and healthcare. Without stable, nurturing early learning environments, these children face long-term challenges in educational equity and personal development. Agnes Youth & Family Center closes this gap through a dual-impact model. We provide high-quality early education led by a committee of Master’s-level professionals who develop evidence-based curricula and mentor teaching staff in developmentally appropriate practices. Simultaneously, we remove the external barriers to learning by connecting families to essential services, including food and clothing support, as well as health screenings and referrals. By combining academic rigor with essential resources, we ensure that a child’s potential is determined by their ambition, not their circumstances. Role (Volunteer, unpaid): [To add] Role Description: The Social Media Content Creator is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing weekly content to help increase awarness about the Agnes Youth and Family Center mission to provide early education and family support services. Capture and organize content (photos, short videos, quotes, testimonials, flyers) from events and day-to-day programming—either by attending events or coordinating with staff/volunteers for content collection. Maintain consistent branding and tone (logo use, colors, hashtags, accessibility-friendly formatting like alt text and captions). Skills & Qualifications Experience creating social media content Strong writing skills (clear, warm, mission-aligned captions and calls to action) Basic design/video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, etc.) Ability to work independently Comfortable collaborating with leadership and turning real-time updates into engaging content Time Commitment: Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 6+ months remotely 💻 If you want to make change happen, apply to volunteer with Agnes Youth & Family Center now!
