Job Summary

You will participate as a DoCrew member focused on creating short‑form digital content and helping tell the story of what young people care about, while staying aligned with DoSomething’s guidelines and community standards.

  • Create short-form digital content, including videos, photos, written reflections, and social posts.
  • Represent DoSomething across website, social media, email, and materials.
  • Collaborate with staff to share stories and support campaigns.

Job Description

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age when the DoCrew term begins in November 2026.
  • Live in the United States.
  • Be a current DoSomething member or create a free DoSomething account before applying.
  • Be available to actively participate as a DoCrew member for 1 year (November 2026 - November 2027).
  • Be able to participate in the virtual orientation (Saturday, November 7 from 11am - 3pm ET) and regular virtual check-ins.
  • Be willing and able to create short-form digital content, including videos, photos, written reflections, and social posts.
  • Be comfortable having approved content shared through DoSomething’s website, social media, email, fundraising materials, and other communications.
  • Demonstrate a meaningful connection to at least one DoSomething pillar or to civic engagement.
  • Agree to follow DoSomething’s community standards, brand guidelines, and content review process.
  • Have reliable access to a smartphone or another device capable of recording video and participating in virtual meetings.

Preferred

  • DoSomething is looking for four active college students to join the inaugural DoCrew.
  • The DoCrew is a group of members who will help tell the story of what young people care about, what they are doing about it, and how DoSomething supports them along the way.
  • Strong candidates may be active college students who:
  • Are already taking action in their school, neighborhood, workplace, family, online community, or another part of their lives.
  • Care deeply about an issue, even if they are still learning how to act on it.
  • Can speak honestly about both their progress and the challenges they encounter.
  • Enjoy sharing ideas, stories, recommendations, or resources with others.
  • Are reliable, responsive, and able to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Want to grow their communication, storytelling, leadership, and advocacy skills.
  • Believe there is more than one way to be a leader or changemaker.
