Job Summary

Drive visual storytelling for a Dallas gallery by owning video, photo content, and social campaigns.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on social media experience with campaigns and content arcs.
  • Standout: End-to-end video/photo production and ownership of the content pipeline.
  • Standout: In-person role in Dallas gallery/studio with a strong portfolio of campaigns.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Be the person with the camera. You are in the studio filming JD Miller painting.
  • You are in the gallery capturing a collector’s reaction.
  • You are at the opening getting the crowd, the lighting, the moment someone stops in front of a piece.
  • If something interesting is happening at SLG, you’re already shooting it.
  • Nobody should have to ask you.
  • Build and maintain a content library. Proactively collect high-quality photos, videos, behind-the-scenes footage, artist interviews, process shots, installation time-lapses, and event coverage. This library feeds everything: social, email, PR, the website. You are the engine that keeps it full.
  • Own the social media calendar across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook, planning content around campaigns, exhibitions, artist milestones, and gallery events.
  • Shoot, edit, and produce video content from start to finish. Short form (Reels, TikTok), mid-length (YouTube), and behind-the-scenes. You handle the whole pipeline: concept, shoot, edit, post.
  • Think in campaigns, not just posts. Every piece of content should connect to a larger narrative: building anticipation for a show, deepening the audience’s connection to an artist, driving attendance to events.
  • Write compelling copy for captions, stories, and video scripts that sounds human, not like a brand template.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on social media experience (agency, brand, or freelance with demonstrable results).
  • A portfolio showing you can think beyond individual posts: campaigns, series, content arcs.
  • Strong video and photography skills. You’re comfortable shooting, editing, and producing on your own, with your own gear or the gallery’s. You are the entire production team.
  • Based in Dallas or willing to relocate. This is in-person. You need to be in the gallery and the studio.
  • Results-oriented. You track what you do, you measure what works, you iterate.
  • Drive. Hunger. The kind of person who sees a massive opportunity and gets genuinely excited, not someone looking for a low-effort placeholder gig.

Preferred

  • Experience in art, luxury, design, or lifestyle verticals.
  • Photography skills (in addition to video).
  • Familiarity with paid social advertising and boosting strategies.
  • Experience growing a brand’s social presence from a small base.
  • Understanding of the contemporary art market or collector audience.
