Job Description

Position Title: Content Creator Coordinator, Build Freedom

Reports To: Workforce Communications Manager

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas preferred (remote)

Travel: Approximately 25–40%

Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

This position supports Build Freedom, a national initiative designed to inspire, educate, and connect the next generation of skilled workers to careers in advanced manufacturing.

POSITION SUMMARY

Build Freedom is seeking a creative and energetic Content Creator to help tell the stories shaping the future of American manufacturing. This role will focus on capturing compelling content from training centers, manufacturing facilities, schools, workforce programs, conferences, and industry events across the country. The Content Creator will produce videos, photos, interviews, social media content, and written stories that showcase the people, technologies, and opportunities driving the Build Freedom movement.

The ideal candidate loves meeting people, traveling, creating content, and finding stories that inspire others to pursue meaningful careers in manufacturing and skilled trades.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation

  • Travel to Build Freedom partner locations, manufacturing facilities, schools, events, and workforce training sites
  • Capture high-quality photos, videos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Produce short-form video content for social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Create reels, highlight videos, testimonials, event recaps, and promotional content
  • Edit video and photo content for publication across multiple channels

Storytelling

  • Interview students, apprentices, instructors, employers, veterans, educators, and industry leaders
  • Identify and develop compelling human-interest stories
  • Write feature stories, blog posts, success stories, and spotlight articles
  • Help document the impact of Build Freedom programs and initiatives nationwide

Social Media Support

  • Generate content that supports ongoing social media campaigns
  • Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to align content with broader campaign goals
  • Provide real-time event coverage through photos, videos, and social posts
  • Contribute creative ideas for audience growth and engagement

Content Management

  • Organize and maintain photo, video, and digital asset libraries
  • Manage content files and metadata to ensure long-term usability
  • Assist with content planning and editorial calendars
  • Support reporting by documenting content performance and engagement metrics

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, digital media, marketing, filmmaking, photography, or related field OR equivalent professional experience
  • 2–5 years of experience creating professional content
  • Strong photography and videography skills
  • Video editing experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar platforms
  • Strong writing and interviewing abilities
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms
  • Ability to travel regularly and work independently in the field
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel nationwide

Preferred

  • Experience covering manufacturing, workforce development, education, trades, STEM, or industrial topics
  • Videography experience
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar creative tools
  • Experience producing YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok-style content
  • Experience working with mission-driven organizations or federally funded initiatives
