Job Description

About Imbue
Imbue is a radically different AI company.
We believe that data should belong to you, humans should come before technology, and everyone deserves to own a personal team of AI agents. We believe in a future of open agents that you can modify to do exactly what you want.
We’re building a suite of tools to make tech serve humanity, and making it open source.
Some first projects include
  • mng: A command-line tool for managing agents
  • Vet: A standalone tool that catches AI coding mistakes and reviews full PRs
  • Offload: A tool that automatically distributes your tests to run in isolated sandboxes
  • Latchkey: A command-line tool to integrate local agents with third-party APIs
  • Darwinian Evolver: A near-universal optimizer for code and agents
And we’re just getting started. If you’re excited about building a future with open agents, say hi!
We're supported by investors like Nvidia, Simon Last (co-founder of Notion), and Eric Schmidt (former CEO of Google), with $200M raised at over $1B valuation.
About The Role
You’ll run our content engine and communications. The company’s narrative, blog, the social channels, email programs, public relations (with support of our PR agency), and the integrated campaigns that tie it all together. You’ll work in close partnership with our teams’ Head of Marketing, Brand Lead, and AI Developer Advocate to put Imbue in front of the people who matter most: builders and thel AI community.
We have a lot of channels and they’re all active, including our cofounder’s own channels. Your job is to make them reachwith a diligent system for building and distributing content. You’ll publish daily, ship campaigns weekly, and turn our drumbeat of launches into multi-channel arcs that compound in support of Imbue’s mission. You’ll also own the process that lets our founders, Kanjun and Josh, go direct on their personal channels. More mission-oriented and more often.
You’re a natural collaborator and big-picture brainstormer. You are familiar with some code and use AI agents hourly. You stay informed on AI through active dialogues on Twitter, tech newsletters, and developer events.
Our message is bold and worth fighting for: technology should be loyal to the user and aligned with human goals. Your job is to amplify it where developers and builders gather.
What You'll Do
Run the content engine and integrate campaigns
  • Own our content programs end-to-end. Blogs, essays, threads, video scripts, landing pages, email sequences, launch posts, manifestos.
  • Tie content together in thoughtfully executed and integrated campaigns, from product launches to mission moments to community building.
  • Pull short-form mission moments out of long-form thinking from our cofounders. Turn their essays into threads. Turn interviews into clips. Turn product evolutions into stories devs want to read.
  • Build a publishing rhythm we can maintain. Daily on social. Weekly on the blog and email. Always something in flight.
  • Build and run a simple, centralized content calendar that connects the dots of what we ship with company-wide visibility
  • Translate technical depth into copy that reads like a friend told you, not a press release.
Drive communications
  • Be the comms point for press, podcasts, conferences, and analyst conversations. We work with a PR agency already, so we need your voice to help lead the work.
  • Build relationships with the writers, podcasters, and creators shaping the AI conversation.
  • Shape launch communications across product, research, and the broader team. Make sure every release lands with the right narrative in the right places.
  • Help us find and measure what works, big and small.
Activate our founders
    • Build and run the system that puts cofounders Kanjun and Josh on their personal channels. Ghostwrite or edit, and prompt for X, LinkedIn, podcasts, and longer essays.
    • Make it easy for them to go direct without breaking flow. Capture voice notes, surface ideas, draft, and publish.
    • Treat cofounder channels and Imbue’s owned channels as a shared system. Coordinate timing, sequence, and amplification.
You Are Someone Who
  • Lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area!
  • Has 5+ years across content, communications, and integrated campaigns. Bonus if you’ve been a founding marketer or first content or comms hire at a developer or AI company.
  • Writes. You think in posts, threads, and headlines. Your drafts are tighter than most peoples’ finals.
  • Has ghostwritten for a founder or executive before and knows how to capture a voice.
  • Familiar with and can use code. You’ve built something with AI agents. You know what a PR review feels like and have a few preferred tools for your own IDE.
Compensation And Benefits
  • Salary range: $120,000–$200,000
  • Company paid medical, dental, and vision for you and your dependents
  • $250 lifestyle stipend per month
  • Flexible PTO
  • Lunch provided daily for onsite employees
  • Support for self-improvement: coaching, courses, and conferences
  • Company offsites. Past locations include NYC, Santa Cruz, Hawai’i, and Tokyo.
  • Frequent team events, dinners, and fun activities
How to apply
All submissions are reviewed by a person, so we encourage you to include notes on why you're interested in working with us. If you have any other work that you can showcase (open source code, side projects, etc.), certainly include it! We know that talent comes from many backgrounds, and we aim to build a team with diverse skillsets that spike strongly in different areas.
We try to reply either way within a week or two at most (usually much sooner).
