Job Summary

Drive integrated communications for mission-driven campaigns, shaping media, content, and community engagement to advance client goals across PR, digital, events, and partnerships.

  • Own media relations and story development, from pitches to interviews, to secure credible coverage that aligns with campaign objectives.
  • Coordinate integrated campaigns across digital, print, email, social, events, outreach, and community engagement, ensuring timely delivery and consistent messaging.
  • Lead community engagement and stakeholder partnerships, moving outreach, events, and content that boosts awareness and action.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop press releases, media advisories, pitches, talking points, fact sheets, newsletters, website copy, social media captions, client updates, campaign messaging, RFP responses, proposals, and other strategic communications materials.
  • Support media relations efforts, including media list development, pitch coordination, follow-up, coverage tracking, and client preparation for interviews or public-facing opportunities.
  • Help shape client stories in a way that is clear, newsworthy, credible, and aligned with campaign goals.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns across digital, print, email, social media, events, public relations, outreach, and community engagement.
  • Develop and support content calendars, campaign timelines, creative briefs, campaign strategies, promotional materials, proposal materials, and client deliverables.
  • Coordinate community outreach, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and event promotion with community-based organizations, schools, businesses, public agencies, media partners, and other key audiences.
  • Assist with planning and execution of events, activations, workshops, press events, and community engagement activities.
  • Work with the creative team, vendors, contractors, and internal team members to move projects forward and maintain quality across all campaign materials.
  • Serve as a key support contact for assigned client projects, helping manage timelines, deliverables, communication, follow-up, meeting notes, project updates, campaign reports, status documents, and client-facing presentations.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in public relations, marketing, communications, community outreach, journalism, nonprofit communications, agency work, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience developing content for press, social media, websites, newsletters, campaigns, and client communications
  • Understanding of media relations, public relations, marketing strategy, and community engagement
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence communicating with clients, partners, media, vendors, and internal team members
  • A creative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a growing team

Preferred

  • Experience in any of the following areas is a plus:
  • Agency, nonprofit, government, healthcare, education, or community-based campaign experience
  • Experience supporting proposals, RFP responses, creative briefs, campaign strategies, or client presentations
  • Experience working on public awareness, behavior change, enrollment, health, education, or community impact campaigns
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
  • Event planning or community outreach experience
  • Platforms such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Cision, and Canva
  • Social media content planning and management
