Job Summary

Own and coordinate external communications and programs to inform, engage, and fundraise while guiding staff and vendors to deliver messaging strategies and public presence.

  • Translate market research into decision-ready campaigns, events, and information programs that reach diverse stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and execution of communications strategy, content, and educational/publicity materials, including press releases, newsletters, and brochures.
  • Build and manage teams, budgets, and vendor contracts to deliver high-impact programs and public events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop all kinds of events for publicity, fundraising and information purposes
  • Develop communication strategies
  • Direct the production of educational and publicity programs and informational materials to awaken curiosity and interest in the subject matter
  • Evaluate communication strategies and programs
  • Implement communication strategies and programs
  • Oversee the preparation of written material for website content
  • Publicize activities, workshops, meetings and other events for fundraising or information purposes
  • Review written material, such as reports, briefs, speeches, presentations and press releases
  • Supervise staff
  • Train staff
  • Develop promotional materials
  • Hire, train, direct and motivate staff
  • Manage contracts
  • Plan and control budget and expenditures
  • Write and edit press releases, newsletter and communications materials
  • Direct and evaluate establishments and departments that develop and implement communication strategies and information programs
  • Act as spokesperson for an organization
  • Answer written and oral inquiries
  • Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters and other material
