Job Summary

Support Ottawa County government communications as a part-time media assistant handling shoot prep, social content creation, and editorial tasks.

Assist video shoots and help produce social media content.
Must-have: Enrolled in a college and available to work 10–20 hours per week.
Based in West Olive, MI with a part-time, limited-benefit role.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Provides production assistance at video shoots, including equipment setup, preparation, and shooting.
Contributes to the development of an editorial social media calendar and campaigns to guide efforts across the platforms.
Creates timely and engaging written, visual, and multimedia content for social media. Monitors trends and suggests creative applications for County campaigns.
Proofreads correspondence and other communications materials for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting accuracy.
Maintains and revises email contact lists and performs miscellaneous administrative and clerical duties.
Performs other duties assigned.

Requirements

Applicants must currently be enrolled in an accredited college/university, majoring in media, film production, communications, graphic design, marketing, journalism, or related fields.
Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license.
Introductory knowledge of audio/visual recording and production and equipment operation.
Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and general computer literacy.
Introductory knowledge of social media channels, account management, advertising, policies, trends, and best practices.
Introductory knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro).
Must be available to work at least 10-20 hours per week.

Benefits

This is a part-time, limited benefit position, based out of the Fillmore Complex located at 12220 Fillmore Street, West Olive, MI. Schedule to be determined, depending on the preferred candidate's availability.
