Communications Intern

Responsibilities

• The Communications Intern will support the communications department with writing press releases, working on newsletters, photography and video editing.
• In addition, the Intern will assist the department with daily office tasks which includes but is not limited to the following: research, data entry, department coordination, etc.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in any of the following degree programs: Business, Finance, Economics, Urban Planning, or a related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
• Current enrollment with a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (undergraduate level) or 3 credit hours per semester (graduate level)
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
• A valid Nevada driver’s license

Preferred

• The ideal candidate would possess strong communication skills; demonstrate proficiency in AP Stylebook, background in Journalism; and exhibit general computer skills related to desktop productivity applications, graphic design software, etc.
• The ideal candidate would also be a self-starter and detailed-oriented as well as possess exemplary phone and email etiquette, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
