Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plans, writes, and edits content that promotes School of Business programs, initiatives, events and strategic priorities across print and digital channels
  • Leads social media content development and messaging to highlight School of Business news, stories, and events and successfully engage the school’s key audiences
  • Regularly writes stories highlighting student, faculty, staff and alumni accomplishments to elevate the school’s visibility and reputation
  • Manages marketing and communications projects, including print materials, digital campaigns and content initiatives
  • Assists in content management and optimization of the School of Business website and other web properties
  • Assists in creating communication plans that support strategic priorities
  • Monitors and analyzes digital communication performance metrics and provides recommendations to improve audience engagement and communication effectiveness
  • Writes and edits news and feature stories
  • Works with communications director and school leadership to develop and distribute publications
  • Supports other content marketing and communications needs as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, strategic communication, English, marketing, public relations or related field and 2 years of professional experience in strategic writing, marketing communications, content development, or related professional experience OR High School Diploma/GED equivalency and 6 years of professional experience in strategic writing, marketing communications, content development, or related professional experience.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite as demonstrated on application materials
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AP style based on application materials

Preferred

  • One year of experience managing social media for an organization
  • One year of experience using content management system to update web content
  • Experience writing feature stories and/or news coverage of academic research
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • Experience with Drupal content management system
