Job Description

Future Elder seeks a full-time communications coordinator (CC) to support the smooth and efficient flow of work within and between agency departments through general project coordination. This cross-functional, entry-level position assists client services, media and creative services teams in the development and timely delivery of communications projects and assets. It requires attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and clearly and effectively communicate with fellow team members, vendors and clients. Interested applicants must be self-motivated, results-oriented and maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a creative and deadline-driven environment.  The CC reports directly to the director of client services.

Future Elder is an Alaska Native and woman-owned full-service brand marketing and communications firm headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, providing expertise to local and national clients across a wide variety of industries, with key areas of focus in health, cultural communications and social justice. 

CC applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in communications, advertising or related field of study. Applicants without formal education will be considered if they possess relevant experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Participate and take notes during meetings
  • Provide a wide variety of general project and administrative support as needed, from running errands, entering data and making phone calls to managing schedules, setting meetings and ensuring tasks are completed on time
  • Proofread
  • Develop content across various communications touchpoints
  • Post and monitor social media
  • Utilize company software management program to organize and track projects and deadlines
  • Work within an established system to create and send out traffic instructions for TV, radio, print and out-of-home communications assets
  • Confirm external traffic for TV, radio, print and out-of-home and file traffic accordingly
  • Manage internal traffic for digital media ads including digital programmatic, video pre-roll, YouTube, Hulu, Connected TV and any other demand-side platform placements
  • Maintain media plans by updating messaging, rotations, links and ISCI codes when media is trafficked out to each platform

Qualifications and Key Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field of study 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in our project management software
