Responsibilities

  • The Business Intelligence Specialist is a strategic contributor to the firm's Marketing and Business Development function, responsible for delivering high-impact research, competitive intelligence, market insights that support business development initiatives, client development efforts, and strategic firm priorities.
  • Sitting within the Business Development team and reporting to the Director of Business Development, this role works closely with attorneys, practice group leaders, firm leadership, Marketing and BD professionals, and Knowledge Research Services to provide timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence on clients, prospects, industries, and competitors.
  • The role also supports the firm’s growth initiatives by identifying market opportunities, developing actionable recommendations, and uncovering cross-practice expansion opportunities that strengthen client relationships and drive strategic business development efforts.
  • The ideal candidate combines rigorous research skills with commercial instincts and the ability to synthesize complex findings into polished, executive-ready deliverables that drive decisions. Strong communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to work fluidly across the firm are essential.
  • Partner with BD colleagues and other requestors to clarify research needs, scope assignments, and deliver work product in the format most useful to the audience.
  • Contribute intelligence and supporting analysis for key-client planning, cross-selling, opportunity identification, and pursuit decisions.
  • Contribute to the identification of whitespace opportunities, high-value prospects, and relationship pathway strategies that support revenue generation and client retention.
  • Help develop and maintain recurring intelligence products, including target lists, market briefs, client-growth summaries, and monitoring reports.
  • Coordinate with Knowledge Management, Finance, Marketing Operations, and other business teams as needed to gather data and support more complex requests.
  • Use Excel, Power BI, and similar tools to organize information, identify patterns, and create visuals that make intelligence deliverables clearer and more actionable.
