Job Summary

Own and orchestrate competitive intelligence and market research to fuel BD and client development, turning complex data into executive-ready moves across clients, prospects, and deals.

  • Own research program: synthesize clients, prospects, industries, and competitors for pitches, RFPs, and strategic planning.
  • Shape growth by identifying whitespace, cross-practice opportunities, and actionable recommendations for partnerships and pursuit strategy.
  • Deliver fast, decision-ready briefs and dashboards using PitchBook, Capital IQ, Bloomberg Law, and AI-assisted tools.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own research program: synthesize clients, prospects, industries, and competitors to support client meetings, pitches, RFPs, lateral recruiting, partner retreats, and strategic planning.
  • Deliver timely intelligence on clients, prospects, industries, and competitors, collaborating with attorneys, practice group leaders, firm leadership, Marketing and BD professionals, and Knowledge Research Services.
  • Identify market opportunities and cross-practice expansion ideas to strengthen client relationships and drive strategic BD efforts.
  • Turn complex findings into polished, executive-ready deliverables that inform decisions and strategy.
  • Develop recurring intelligence products such as target lists, market briefs, client-growth summaries, and monitoring reports.
  • Support conference and event strategy with attendee intelligence, executive profiles, investor identification, and prospect segmentation.
  • Coordinate with Knowledge Management, Finance, Marketing Operations, and other teams to fulfill complex research requests.
  • Monitor lateral attorney movement, practice group trends, and talent dynamics to inform expansion planning and hiring decisions.
  • Assist Recruiting with due diligence on lateral candidates, synthesizing internal data and external sources into concise profiles.
  • Leverage tools and AI-assisted workflows to surface data and create visuals that clarify insights and drive action.
