Own international business development for a cross-border law practice, focusing on market intelligence, cross-practice collaboration, and high-impact client pitches.

  • Growth & Strategy: Build and execute global BD plans with a focus on priority markets and local dynamics.
  • Execution & Enablement: Lead RFPs, marketing collateral, and client meetings; coach partners for influence and win-rate.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Partner with practice chairs and working group leaders to develop and execute international business development strategies
  • Identify market trends, client opportunities, and cross-border growth areas
  • Drive cross-practice and cross-regional collaboration to expand client relationships
  • Support business development efforts across priority international markets, tailoring strategies and materials to local dynamics
  • Leverage market intelligence and client insights to position the firm effectively in global markets
  • Lead the development of high-impact pitches and RFP responses, aligning client needs with the firm’s value proposition
  • Coach partners and senior attorneys for client meetings and presentations
  • Support the integration of lateral partners through targeted client planning and coordinated business development strategies
  • Develop and manage practice group budgets and track ROI on business development initiatives
  • Utilize CRM and other tools to track activity, support client targeting, and inform decision-making

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum of 6 years of business development or marketing experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of cross-border business development, global markets, and regulatory environments
  • Fluency in Spanish or another major language strongly preferred
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders
  • Experience with CRM systems, experience management tools (e.g., Foundation), and AI-enabled tools preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
