Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead with Cultural Competence and Change Mindset: Promote inclusive, customer centric communication and lead change effectively by ensuring messaging is culturally relevant, adaptable, and supportive of organizational transformation.
  • Provide Strategic Brand Voice Leadership: Lead the development and execution of a cohesive brand voice through strategic storytelling, ensuring communications consistently reflect brand standards and resonate with internal and external audiences. Have influence on the use of Brand Voice throughout the organization.
  • Lead, Mentor, and Develop a Communications Team: Manage and coach a team of communications professionals, setting clear goals, providing direction and feedback, and holding accountability for performance, quality, and outcomes.
  • Develop and Execute Integrated Content Strategies: Design and deliver multi channel communications and content strategies that enhance brand awareness, support business priorities, and drive customer engagement across platforms and touchpoints.
  • Serve as an Expert Communicator and Writing Authority: Act as a subject matter expert in messaging, writing, and narrative development, providing guidance and best practice counsel to stakeholders across the organization. Contribute as a senior level writer in addition to mentoring and coaching a team on these topics.
  • Build Strong Cross Functional Partnerships: Collaborate closely with leaders and teams across functions to align communications with organizational priorities, strengthen relationships, and ensure clarity, consistency, and shared understanding.
  • Apply Insights, Problem Solving, and Critical Thinking: Analyze customer insights, market trends, and the competitive landscape to inform communications strategies, solve complex challenges, and continuously improve effectiveness.
  • Leverage Technology and Innovation: Monitor and apply emerging communications technologies, tools, and industry best practices to enhance content creation, distribution, measurement, and overall impact. Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the use of Artificial Intelligence in conjunction with a writing staff, leveraging more consistent

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related field field of study.
  • 5 years experience in brand voice, corporate communications, content strategy, or editorial roles.
  • 2 years direct supervisory experience.
  • Must have the ability to travel domestic or international 10% of the time.
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
  • Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education

  • Expert writing and editing skills, including digital, social, and long‑form content with high editorial accuracy.
  • Proven ability to define and evolve a global brand voice across B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including presenting to C‑suite and the Chairman.
  • Strategic brand leadership, using research and insights to guide messaging and brand POV.
  • Content strategy expertise, using analytics and persona insights to shape multi‑channel content.
  • Ability to work in digital publishing tools, including InDesign, PDF editing, and creative production workflows.
  • Fluency with communication platforms, including social, digital publishing, and emerging technologies.
  • AI competency for brand voice development, content creation, and workflow optimization.
  • Cross-functional collaboration, working effectively with global teams and business partners.
  • People leadership, mentoring writers and developing editorial guidelines and tools.
