Job Summary

Own the athletics communications function by covering IWU teams, coordinating social media, and delivering timely game content and features while maintaining digital archives and the department website.

  • Content & platforms: supervise social media execution, event components, and feature storytelling
  • Assets & archives: maintain records, digital archives, and up-to-date department website content

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coverage of all IWU Athletic teams. Specific sport assignment of 6 teams
  • Assist in coordination and implementation of the department’s social media outreach plan
  • Manage and post athletic event components such as pregame, in-game, and post-game
  • Create monthly student/coaches features to highlight the mission of IWU Athletics
  • Assist in oversight and development of gameday student staff that help with social media, scorer’s table, stats, announcing, broadcasting, photography, videography
  • Handle record book management and continually work to catalog all aspects of Athletics Communications, utilizing digital archiving procedures that include website and cloud technology
  • Manage storage/library of annual files, photographs, miscellaneous awards, and videography
  • Write and edit various communication materials, weekly previews, game recaps, game notes and sport-specific content for the department’s website
  • Develop and manage the IWU Athletics website while helping in the maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and timely content and news dissemination (including all aspects of the website such as rosters, schedules, biographies, results, and assisting in website management)
  • Other projects and/or duties as assigned by the supervisor or athletics administrative team
