Job Summary

Own creative leadership for Blizzard’s brand visuals and campaigns, shaping brand voice, cultural relevance, and consistent execution across global markets and Warcraft-related materials through collaborative cross-functional partnerships.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: align with design, marketing, and product teams to deliver timely, on-brand creative across franchises.
  • Problem-Solving & Quality: translate complex visual challenges into clear, high-quality design solutions that strengthen brand recognition.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Creative Direction: Guide the development of visuals, messaging, and content that bring the brand story to life across all platforms.
  • Cultural Relevance: Focus on bringing the brand back to the forefront of cultural relevance, ensuring that campaigns resonate with the cultural zeitgeist.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure that all external communications align with the brand’s voice, positioning, and strategic vision, maintaining a unified brand presence across all channels.
  • Global Campaign Consistency: Ensure that global campaigns are executed consistently across all territories, collaborating with Product Marketing to support local adaptations while maintaining the core brand message.
  • Provide high level guidance, iterative review and approval of Warcraft related materials in all franchise extensions
  • Conceptualize and design for online ad campaigns while adhering to the visual quality of the brand
  • Solve complex visual problems and turn them into beautifully clear designed solutions that reinforce the brand
  • Build strong relationships with support cross-functional partners, identify key creative leaders for partnership, and further shared creative values and goals
  • Manage multiple projects from start to finish while keeping multiple stakeholders both in and out of the organization appropriately informed and engaged

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in art leadership as an Art Director, Designer, or Illustrator either in-house or at a creative agency
  • 5+ years of experience in brand marketing
  • 3+ years of demonstrated people management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Art, Design, Marketing, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated successes collaborating with across departments and with external agencies
  • Detailed project management skills and ability to maintain strategic view of all work
  • Previous experience successfully managing creative people including designers and artists

  • Creative Director experience
  • Strong layout and design skills
  • Broadcast media art direction experience
  • Consumer product design and packaging design experience
  • Illustration abilities
  • Passion for gaming and understanding of current industry trends
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
