Job Description

Associate Account Director

The Associate Account Director is the eyes and ears of the account. The process is in their hands. From the brief to the overall creative process, briefing to presentation, and production through release. They will be able to take on a heavy amount of work as well as diversity in project types with ease. They will understand when to delegate and when to manage up.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with mid-level clients to help understand how the business works and the internal ways of getting things done within their organization.
  • Prepare and keep clear status reports and hold meetings keeping the team on track.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive landscape, category trends, and relevant industry developments.
  • Oversee all legal clearance, business affairs and production items (talent, music rights, licensing, edits, lifts).
  • Partner with Strategist in framing and writing creative briefs where appropriate
  • Master proficiency in writing concise, articulate internal and client facing communications (emails, creative POVs, basic strategic and media POVs, creative set-ups).
  • Oversee research and testing process across questionnaire and materials/stimulus development.
  • Learn the connection between creative deliverables and their impact on our client’s business (sale, traffic, buzz, brand health, awareness).
  • Lead client calls and meetings with mid-level clients.
  • Develop contingency plans, foresee roadblocks, problem solve through obstacles and manage up when needed.
  • Proactively manage priorities with clients and be able to articulate trade-offs of re-prioritizations.
  • Own management, teaching and training of Account Managers’s (i.e. realtime feedback, timely and insightful reviews).
  • Serve as ambassador for the creative process, help solve problems or concerns as they come up before internal presentations, offer to hunt down insights to information as the process evolves.
  • Guide team in providing customized feedback to sell in work with creative counterparts.
  • Understand what works best to motivate the team (new notes/recap of direct client notes, etc).
  • Identifies small opportunities for incremental client growth or expanded support.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of advertising agency experience.
  • Able to work from our downtown office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Understanding of when to own, when to delegate and when to manage up.
  • Ability to develop (e.g. write) and present materials.
  • Ability to confidently lead client calls and meetings.
  • Production experience across mediums.

Base Compensation Range: $75,000 - $95,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
