Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop applications and generate scientific data that supports our portfolio of instruments, consumables, and services.
  • Create technical and scientific content for marketing materials, including white papers, application notes, and webinars.
  • Lead scientific research and development activities for new product concepts and improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to design, test, and validate product prototypes.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to ensure product performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Applications Lab, including inventory, experiment planning, and lab safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Document research findings, prepare technical reports, and present results to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other Scientists across other Mettler-Toledo organizations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 2 -4 years of experience in product development within relevant industries.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, OMICS or related field with proven technical proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and analytical instrumentation.
  • Must have strong, hands-on experience with liquid handling, ranging from manual pipetting to automation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scientific documentation and presentation, characterized by the ability to communicate sophisticated technical concepts clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and creativity in assay and/or product development.
  • Familiarity with relevant scientific software and data analysis management tools.
