Job Role

As an Account Manager, you’ll be at the center of all activity at Three29. To clients, you’ll be the friendly face of the agency, someone your clients will look forward to meeting with, who also possesses the technical knowledge and communication skills to own the room. To our internal team, you’re the client advocate, ensuring that what your clients want is being executed correctly. To the agency as a whole, you are a master planner, forecasting production to aid the sales team, organizing workload to keep our production team occupied but not overworked, and keeping your finger on the pulse of all production to ensure all tasks are running smoothly across the agency.

Core Requirements

• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, fostering an environment where long-term business partnerships can grow.
• Delegate, define, and manage the technical day-to-day activities of design and development projects, including web, mobile, and SaaS projects.
• Participate in daily standups with the Accounts team to monitor and address daily workload for production employees.
• Manage 10-15 client accounts at any given time, effectively balancing concurrent and sometimes competing projects.
• Kick off new projects by preparing projects and milestones, allocating budgets, leading Sales to Production Meetings, customizing projects in Teamwork, and assigning work to appropriate team members.
• Coordinate with production staff and, when necessary, clients regarding project details and scope of work. Acquire estimates, generate proposals, and obtain project approvals.
• Manage schedules and budgets while ensuring quality assurance for all assigned clients.
• Conduct post-mortem meetings at the completion of every major project to gather information used to optimize Three29’s internal processes.
• Perform internal quality assurance testing, test and task client programming feedback, and ensure builds are deployed with minimal bugs.
• Understand the ins and outs of agency culture, operating as an advocate for your clients internally and as a liaison between your clients and internal team.

Bonus Points

• You have experience QA testing websites, apps, and software products, recording bugs, and tasking fixes to developers and designers.
• In addition to working in a marketing agency environment, you’ve also worked in branding, communications, public relations, and/or journalism/media.
• You’ve written social post copy, run Google and Facebook ad campaigns, and, if asked, could perform an SEO audit of a website.
• You’ve led client meetings, presenting project deliverables, taking notes, and outlining processes and next steps.
• You have experience writing or reviewing code or working in UI/UX design.
• You have 1-2 years of creative or marketing agency experience, or in-house experience managing website, app, or SaaS projects.
• You’re familiar with the WordPress CMS, particularly the Gutenberg editor
• You’ve used a project management software tool such as Teamwork, JIRA, Monday, ClickUp, or similar platforms.
• You’ve worked in a role that required direct communication with clients and stakeholders through email, phone calls, video conferencing, and in-person meetings.
• You have experience communicating with designers and developers to meet client needs.
• You have experience guiding clients through the design process.

• Whether you’re in a one-on-one conversation or leading a meeting, you communicate verbally with confidence, composure, and the appropriate level of professionalism.
• You display a strong understanding of how to use the products we deliver and can communicate the functional requirements of a project effectively.
• You thoroughly review and/or QA test every website, app, or software tool before it reaches the client, ensuring that we deliver a high-quality product.

Remote Policy

Three29 is a fully remote agency, and this position can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States.

We maintain flexible start and end times, with an emphasis on clear communication, accountability, and collaboration across the team.

Because this is a fully remote position, Account Managers are expected to have a reliable internet connection, a professional workspace, and the ability to participate in video meetings and collaborate effectively with clients and internal team members.

During the training and onboarding period, which can last between 1 and 4 weeks depending on progress, new hires will work remotely while receiving training and support from the Three29 team.

Interview Process

We keep it straightforward. You will start with a brief screening call with one of our founders. If that goes well, you will come back for a second round with our Director of Account Management and a few other other team members. In that interview we will want to know how you think, not just what you know.
