Job Summary

Own integrated communications work for client campaigns, turning goals into media relations, content, events, and reporting that move coverage and engagement in a fast pace environment.

  • Media relations and coverage: pitch journalists, build lists, and maintain relationships for ongoing earned media.
  • Strategic execution: translate client goals into integrated comms plans and track coverage and engagement metrics.
  • Operations and storytelling: draft materials, coordinate events, and manage timelines and billing.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide service support by attending internal and client meetings and Teams calls, meeting deadlines, troubleshooting problems, drafting and updating status reports, and responding to staff, client requests and questions in a timely manner.
  • Write, edit and proofread written materials and creative collateral including but not limited to press materials, strategy memorandums, blog posts, web pages/sites, videos, advertising elements and/or general client and agency correspondence.
  • Collaborate with an integrated communications team to understand client goals and develop relevant and effective advertising and communication strategies.
  • Track, analyze and report on account-related news, coverage, research and online conversation.
  • Execute media relations efforts including media list development and pitching, and develop strong ongoing relationships with journalists, reporters and bloggers.
  • Assist in coordinating media, client and agency events, including identifying and securing venues; working with creative team to develop marketing and collateral materials; coordinating with internal departments on logistics such as media placement, event production and webcasting.
  • Analyze campaign metrics and implement public engagement and social media tools.
  • Contribute to and implement media strategies as directed by senior staff.
  • Facilitate account billing.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience managing projects and/or clients in communications, public relations, journalism, public policy, advertising or a related field.
  • Proven success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Preferred

  • An interest in global health and development issues, gender equality, social justice, food/nutrition systems, and/or international health.
