Job Description

Drive enterprise growth for Vitalant by expanding the donor base and optimizing blood collection across fixed and mobile platforms.

  • Own the development and execution of the enterprise growth strategy for donor acquisition and engagement.
  • Must-have: Ten years of related sales or business development leadership and donor services operations experience.
  • Standout: Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with executive-level influence and budget stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Vitalant’s enterprise growth strategy to expand the donor base and optimize blood collection across fixed and mobile platforms.
  • Establish and prioritize strategic objectives for donor acquisition, retention, and engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and measurable impact.
  • Drive innovation and scalability across growth programs to support long-term sustainability.
  • Direct enterprise-level evaluations and strategic planning for new market entry and emerging service models, including pilot and proof-of-concept initiatives that reflect local community needs and donor access considerations.
  • Guide expansion of fixed sites, mobile territories, and programs focused on first-time and re-engaged donors.
  • Influence key real estate decisions, including donor center refresh schedules and lease renewals, to optimize production and enhance donor experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ten years related sales or business development experience required.
  • Six years leadership experience required.
  • Experience working in donor services operations (field donor recruitment, planning and scheduling, or donor care/collections) required.
  • Six years sales, strategic planning, marketing, and growth initiatives experience required.
  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have analytical, statistical, personal organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.
  • Effective oral and written business communication skills.
  • Must have a participative management style, strong team development, coaching skills, and the ability to lead and motivate senior and executive-level managers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active member of management.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to travel (35+%).

Preferred
