Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating and publishing content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and other team platforms.
  • Develop captions, short-form videos, stories, reels, graphics, polls, and other interactive content.
  • Help maintain the team’s social media content calendar.
  • Capture behind-the-scenes content at games, practices, community events, promotional appearances, and team activities.
  • Assist with live game coverage, including pregame content, in-game updates, scores, highlights, and postgame posts.
  • Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and fan interactions while following established response and escalation procedures.
  • Research social media trends, platform updates, popular audio, hashtags, and content ideas relevant to hockey and sports entertainment.
  • Collaborate with the marketing, graphic design, photography, videography, merchandise, ticket sales, and game presentation teams.
  • Assist with promoting ticket packages, merchandise, sponsorships, community initiatives, special events, and team announcements.
  • Organize digital content and maintain accurate photo, video, and social media files.

Requirements

  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, sports management, journalism, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and their content formats.
  • Strong writing, grammar, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Ability to create engaging content while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Basic experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, or similar content-creation tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling or management platforms is a plus.
  • Basic photography and video-editing skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of hockey or an interest in learning about the sport is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Professional judgment when representing the organization online.
