Job Summary

This role focuses on publishing daily social posts, filming and editing mobile-first video, and capturing field content while coordinating with the News Team. It requires knowledge of major platforms, basic analytics, and strong organizational skills to meet deadlines. The candidate will craft engaging captions, monitor trends, and analyze performance to support the station’s branding and marketing goals.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Publish daily posts across all station social media platforms
  • Film and edit short-form video content for social platforms using an iPhone and mobile editing software
  • Capture high-quality photos and video in the field for use across digital platforms
  • Coordinate closely with the News Team to identify timely, engaging content
  • Gather and organize videos, photos, and other assets for social posts
  • Write compelling, audience-focused captions that drive engagement and clicks
  • Monitor trends and adapt content to stay relevant and competitive
  • Measure and analyze social performance metrics to evaluate success
  • Follow and execute the station’s brand and marketing strategy
  • Meet all deadlines and content expectations set by the Marketing Director

Requirements

  • Understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of social media analytics and performance tracking
  • Ability to independently film and edit social-first content using an iPhone and mobile editing tools (CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere Rush, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Team player who can collaborate effectively with newsroom staff
  • Awareness of social media trends and digital storytelling techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced media environment
