Job Description

  • Prepares social listening data and insights for broader reporting needs, including contributions to board reports and institutional communications, in partnership with the Data Analyst for Web and Social Media and the Associate Director.
  • Flags risks, opportunities, and emerging issues to the Associate Director and Director for rapid response, and maintains ongoing awareness of the broader conversation happening about Dartmouth across platforms.

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong copywriting skills, including the ability to write in a defined institutional voice across platforms with different tones and conventions.
  • Working knowledge of design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or Figma sufficient to produce graphics, carousels, and Stories.
  • Experience managing community engagement on social platforms, including responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions.

  • Sound judgment in determining what to escalate, what to respond to, and how to represent an institutional voice in public-facing interactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of small tasks that add up to a polished public presence.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment.
  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit communications, or a comparably mission-driven organization.
  • Experience collaborating with photographers, videographers, or designers to package content for social.
