Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead Milken Institute’s email marketing strategy and editorial calendar to drive traffic, engagement, leads, visibility, and support.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns end-to-end, including planning, targeting, building, testing, reporting, and optimization.
  • Develop documentation and road maps for processes and A/B tests for communication needs that succeed through email.
  • Stay current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to email marketing.
  • Direct activities related to Salesforce Marketing Cloud contact management, ensuring that email lists are healthy and continue to grow.
  • Segment lists based on behaviors like past email engagement and website interactions.
  • Build and manage automated, multi-touch email customer journeys in Salesforce Marketing Cloud to drive engagement and conversions across audience segments.
  • Design and optimize lifecycle email journeys based on user behavior, preferences, and engagement data to support deeper audience relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map audience touchpoints and develop journey logic that aligns with program and business goals.
  • Analyze journey performance and iterate based on engagement trends and conversion outcomes to improve marketing effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience developing and managing optimized marketing campaigns in a nonprofit, political, or public policy setting with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience building campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Understanding of CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, and internal governance email laws.
  • Excellent understanding of marketing concepts and metrics.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and email design best practices.
  • Experience writing copy to translate and promote complex materials and craft messages for specific audience segments for ads and emails.
