Job Summary

Own and execute media relations programs for beverage clients, including building media lists, writing strategic pitches, securing coverage, and managing client communications and event logistics.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Builds media lists with minimal oversight
  • Strategic pitch writing and targeting
  • Relationships with press contacts developed to a point where regular contact should result in hits for clients
  • Feature story pitching
  • Client management
  • Professional, client-ready, and timely communications -- internally and externally
  • Effectively communicates progress against program deliverables
  • Other duties as assigned
  • AE’s at our agency work collaboratively as core members of the account team, while taking responsibility for their own tasks and delivering on quantifiable goals. Such goals include securing media coverage for our clients, securing appropriate attendees for events and seminars, event planning and staffing, organizing press trips, and forming relationships with beverage industry members at all levels.
  • AE's have client-facing responsibility within their accounts and are expected to interact with clients on calls, in meetings, and at events. AE responsibilities on their accounts will expand over time, in some cases including account leadership.

Requirements

  • Can build strong media lists with little need for review from supervisors
  • Can proactively conduct outreach to potential clients and promote agency
  • Strong written/verbal communication, including the ability to successfully pitch to top tier journalists
  • Has strong relationships with industry contacts and proactively networks to increase connections
  • Can provide effective customer service including: leading client meetings, completing deliverables on time, managing expectations, and driving strategy
  • Events - can build strong trade lists with little need for review from supervisors and is able to communicate key benefits of the event to invitees
  • AE responsibilities and client-facing requirements as described in Description
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft office tools (Excel, PPT, Word)
  • Qualifications- Desired Skills and Experience

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the spirits industry is a plus
  • Desire to continuously refine skills and/or learn new ones
