Job Summary

Own and optimize the Platform Marketing operating engine, turning budgets and data into a strategic plan and executive narrative for a SaaS org.

  • Budget and investment stewardship: set spend directions, defend allocations, and reallocate based on measurable impact.
  • Operational cadence and scaling: design the CMO’s rhythm, implement scalable processes, and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Executive storytelling and stakeholder management: craft data-backed recommendations and maintain trust across Finance, Sales, PMM, and GBSG.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Budget strategy: recommend where to shift spend, when to double down, and what to cut based on results.
  • Budget ownership: own the annual and in-year budget process end-to-end, build the investment case, defend allocations, and manage forecast cycles.
  • Investment optimization: continuously evaluate marketing investment efficiency and drive reallocations.
  • AI-enabled reporting: leverage AI tools to build real-time budgeting dashboards and automate reporting with Finance partnership.
  • Operating rhythm: design and run the CMO’s cadence including leadership agendas, performance reviews, QBRs, annual planning, all-hands, and offsites.
  • Scale and governance: build durable operating frameworks and infrastructure that scale with the team and improve how the org operates.
  • Process improvement: proactively identify operational inefficiencies and lead fixes to streamline processes and reduce costs.
  • Planning cycles: establish and own 3/1 year planning cycles with clear owners, milestones, and success measures.
  • Executive storytelling: own the Platform Marketing narrative end-to-end with data-driven, executive-ready communications.
  • Cross-functional alignment: maintain high-trust relationships across Finance, Sales, Product Marketing, and GBSG, acting as a connective tissue for alignment.
  • Proactive leadership: anticipate leadership questions and deliver data-backed recommendations before they’re asked.
Requirements
  • 8+ years in marketing strategy and operations with direct ownership of large marketing budgets; prior management consulting preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with media spend and agency ROI analysis: iROAS, attribution modeling, SOW evaluation, performance metrics.
  • Strong financial acumen: forecasting, accruals, and translating financial data into executive storytelling.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills, able to distill ambiguity into a clear, compelling point of view.
  • Proven ability to drive organizational change in a matrixed environment without direct authority.
  • Active GenAI fluency: uses Claude, Chat GPT, Gemini, or equivalents in real workflows for analysis, dashboards, synthesis, and drafting.
  • Deep understanding of marketing strategy and go-to-market in SaaS or tech.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
Preferred
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Experience supporting a CMO or senior marketing executive in a high-growth environment.
  • Background in integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Experience building or scaling a marketing COE or operating model from the ground up.
