Job Summary

Own and optimize Perplexity field marketing across events, sponsorships, and campaigns to generate pipeline, working with Sales and cross-functional teams.

  • Co-own field strategy and programs
  • Align with Sales to drive target accounts and pipeline

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Co-own the field marketing strategy. Work as an equal partner on a two-person field marketing team to build the portfolio around company priorities, target accounts, sales territories, product launches, and pipeline goals. Divide and conquer across programs while maintaining shared standards, visibility, and accountability.
  • Turn field engagement into pipeline. Design every program around a clear audience, business objective, conversion path, and follow-up plan, from pre-event outreach through opportunity creation and deal acceleration.
  • Own third-party event sponsorships. Evaluate conferences and sponsorship opportunities, recommend where Perplexity should invest, negotiate and activate packages, coordinate speakers and on-site presence, and build the pre-event and post-event motion required to produce a return.
  • Run high-impact Perplexity events. Own executive dinners, vertical roundtables, regional roadshows, customer workshops, and hackathons that build pipeline and deepen relationships with senior buyers.
  • Align tightly with Sales. Partner with Account Executives, SDRs, and Sales leadership on target-account lists, meeting goals, outreach, on-site roles, hand-raiser routing, and post-event follow-up.
  • Represent Perplexity in the market. Lead on-site execution across conferences and owned events, including messaging, booth or venue experience, executive participation, customer meetings, and post-event conversion.
  • Build integrated campaigns around field moments. Work with Product Marketing, Growth, Lifecycle, Social, Comms, and Partnerships to extend events through targeted outreach, content, digital programs, and sales activation before and after each moment.
  • Own execution end to end. Manage agencies, vendors, venues, budgets, timelines, run-of-show, staffing, production, and contingency planning while maintaining a high bar for attendee experience.
  • Measure outcomes, not activity. Instrument the path from invited account through registration, attendance, meeting, opportunity, and revenue. Track cost per attendee, meetings held, target-account engagement, sourced and influenced pipeline, deal acceleration, and program ROI.
  • Build the field operating system. Create the planning cadence, intake process, event tiers, checklists, reporting, and retros required to scale the program and make investment decisions based on results.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in field marketing and event marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology.
  • Proven track record building and scaling a portfolio that includes third-party sponsorships, conferences, and company-led field programs, with measurable pipeline or deal-acceleration results.
  • A versatile, hands-on operator who can move between strategy, sponsorship evaluation, campaign planning, event production, executive management, on-site execution, and performance analysis.
  • Deep expertise in either third-party sponsorships or company-led field events is welcome, provided you have the range and interest to operate across both.
  • Strong event planning and execution skills, with experience managing both intimate executive programs and larger conferences, roadshows, or customer events.
  • Collaborative and low-ego, with experience working alongside a peer to divide a large portfolio, make tradeoffs, share context, and step into each other's programs when needed.
  • Excellent relationship builder who can engage senior executives, customers, prospects, Sales teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners with equal ease.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling event narratives, executive briefs, and field campaign plans.
  • Analytically rigorous, with experience setting targets, managing budgets, working with CRM data, and reporting sourced and influenced pipeline.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and calm under pressure, with the judgment to solve problems quickly when plans change on site.
