Job Summary

Own learning-technology integration and faculty support for a university CTL, driving pedagogy and tools like Generative AI to improve outcomes on both Vermilion and USD-Sioux Falls campuses.

  • Build technology-pedagogy solutions with faculty and drive training on tech and pedagogy.
  • Lead Generative AI coaching in classrooms and productivity workflows.
  • Oversee student staff and turn outcomes data into assessment insights across campus collaborations.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • works with faculty to solve specific technological and pedagogical problems
  • provides training in the areas of technology and pedagogy
  • provides training and support in the use of Generative AI in the classroom/productivity
  • provides support and oversight for graduate and undergraduate student employees
  • provides data for outcomes-based assessment measures
  • supports marketing and outreach activities
  • Some training may require off-campus travel
  • This position is highly collaborative and works closely with academic and administrative units from across the university
  • In addition to work on the Vermilion campus, the CTL actively supports USD-Sioux Falls; up to 3 days each week may take place on the USD-Sioux Falls campus depending on the individual hired
Requirements
  • Master’s degree
  • evidence of teaching at any level
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • willingness to work as part of a team that develops and supports a community dedicated to excellent teaching and learning, regardless of location, formality, or modality
  • valid driver’s license
  • This position requires Travel, Overnight stays, Weekends/Holidays, Valid Drivers License
Preferred
  • Graduate degree in Education, Educational Technology, Educational Psychology, or related field
  • terminal degree in a field that would allow them to teach at USD
  • evidence of successful teaching in higher education
  • experience with instructional design and course management systems (preferably Desire2Learn)
  • experience teaching online
  • experience in professional or faculty development
  • experience with Generative AI
  • experience with Digital Accessibility and/or assistive technologies
  • experience in mentoring students and/or colleagues
  • working knowledge of web-based applications, and emerging technologies that facilitate distance learning
