Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Leads Clemson Football's social media strategy and content to drive brand growth, recruiting visibility, and fan engagement.
  • Aligns digital storytelling with sponsorship opportunities to maximize program impact.
  • Responsible for the strategic oversight and daily execution of Clemson Football's official social media platforms, reporting to the Associate AD for Football Communications. Develops platform-specific strategies, editorial calendars, and campaign plans aligned with football operations, recruiting cycles, and departmental priorities while using analytics and benchmarks to inform decisions. Serves as the steward of Clemson Football's and the Head Coach's digital voice, ensuring consistency, credibility, and alignment with University and Athletics brand standards.
  • Leads the creation and distribution of high-quality, platform-native content that reflects the identity and competitive culture of Clemson Football. Coordinates and/or produces short-form video, graphics, photography, and written content while executing real-time coverage of games, practices, travel, and behind-the-scenes access. Ensures content balances speed, authenticity, and professionalism to maintain a timely, engaging, and nationally relevant presence.
  • Serves as a liaison between Strategic Communications and Clemson Ventures to integrate sponsorship and NIL initiatives into football digital content while advising other sports as needed. Collaborates on ideation, execution, and reporting for digital-first brand activations that align with partner goals and editorial standards. Supports athlete-led storytelling and co-branded campaigns while coordinating with compliance and Ventures staff to meet institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Functions as a leader within the football communications ecosystem by coordinating with football operations, recruiting, creative services, compliance, and external partners. Manages workflows, supervises student assistants, and implements systems that support content velocity and quality control. Provides guidance on digital best practices and serves as a trusted partner to coaches and administrators while upholding institutional priorities.
  • Leads ongoing evaluation and innovation of Clemson Football's digital presence in ways that elevate the University's brand. Monitors industry trends, benchmarks against peer and aspirational programs, and pilots new storytelling formats and platforms. Identifies opportunities to expand reach, engagement, and commercial value while contributing to broader digital and NIL strategy discussions.
