Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive Gainsight’s end-to-end content marketing strategy, aligning editorial vision with business and revenue goals.
  • Build thought leadership content that strengthens Gainsight’s authority within the customer success and AI communities.
  • Partner closely with Growth Marketing, Customer Marketing, and Product Marketing teams to create content that supports pipeline generation and customer engagement.
  • Lead the development and execution of high-impact content programs across multiple formats and channels.
  • Establish and maintain a distinct brand voice that earns audience trust and differentiates Gainsight in the market.
  • Manage and mentor a small in-house content team while leveraging external contractors to scale content production effectively.
  • Measure and optimize content performance, ensuring initiatives drive measurable business impact across the buyer and customer journey.
  • Collaborate with senior marketing leadership to integrate content strategy into broader company and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Balance strategic leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution to deliver high-quality content support across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8 to 12 years of content marketing experience, with meaningful time in B2B SaaS or enterprise tech. You understand how software buyers think and what earns their trust.
  • Proven track record building content strategy from the ground up, not just inheriting and optimizing. You have defined the editorial vision, not just executed someone else’s.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect content to business outcomes. You think in pipeline and retention, not just pageviews and downloads.
  • A strong writer and editor with deep AP style fluency and the ability to produce and direct content across a wide range of formats and voices.
  • A systems builder. You think in programs, workflows, and playbooks. You leave infrastructure behind you.
  • Fluency with AI content tools and a clear point of view on how to use them to scale output without diluting quality.
  • Experience managing a team and directing contractor support toward shared outcomes.
  • Strong cross-functional instincts and the ability to build trusted partnerships across Growth Marketing, Customer Marketing, Product Marketing, Communications, and Sales.
  • High agency and low ego. You are as comfortable writing a great piece of content yourself as you are directing others to.
  • Best fit for someone with 6 to 12 years in content marketing and leadership experience in B2B SaaS.

Preferred

  • Experience in the customer success, post-sales, or retention category. You know the space and the people in it.
  • Background in journalism or long-form writing that sharpened your editorial instincts.
  • An existing network in B2B tech media or the creator and newsletter ecosystem.
  • Experience building thought leadership programs that have earned meaningful press coverage or industry recognition.
  • Familiarity with Gainsight’s product suite or the broader CS platform landscape.

Benefits

  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package including fully covered medical premiums (employee-only), flexible PTO, 401(k) plan, dental and vision coverage, and remote work options. Additional benefits include a $10,000 lifetime fertility stipend and access to coworking spaces around the globe. You'll also enjoy dedicated Recharge Holidays - one long weekend each quarter to relax and reset.
