Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead an integrated business development, marketing, and communications strategy aligned with sales, revenue, customer retention, and long-term growth goals.
  • Partner with Sales to create targeted campaigns, lead generation programs, sales materials, customer communications, and market-specific outreach strategies.
  • Work with the President and CEO and senior leadership to define annual priorities, brand positioning, communications plans, and measurable performance objectives.
  • Monitor pipeline performance, sales forecasts, campaign results, and key metrics; translate insights into recommendations that support continued business growth.
  • Lead, coach, and support marketing, communications, sales support, and creative team members with clear goals, expectations, timelines, and accountability.
  • Oversee brand messaging, thought leadership, public relations, social media, newsletters, advertising, presentations, website content, collateral, and customer-facing materials.
  • Plan and manage multi-channel campaigns, including email marketing, digital advertising, Google Ads, LinkedIn campaigns, direct mail, webinars, events, trade shows, and sponsorships.
  • Use CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and reporting tools, including platforms such as Act-On and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, to improve segmentation, lead management, campaign performance, and customer engagement.
  • Manage budgets, vendors, advertising placements, production schedules, timelines, and project workflows to ensure efficient execution and strong return on investment.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, seminars, customer meetings, speaking engagements, trade shows, and other business development opportunities as needed.

Requirements

  • Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, sales, business development, public relations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success building strategies that support lead generation, customer acquisition, customer retention, and revenue growth.
  • Experience partnering with sales teams to develop campaigns, collateral, messaging, account support, pipeline-building programs, and customer communications.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, email marketing, website content, CRM systems, marketing automation, online advertising, social media, analytics, and campaign reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage direct reports, coordinate cross-functional work, and support team performance in both in-person and remote environments.
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation, storytelling, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and channels.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, creative production, advertising placements, events, trade shows, public relations activities, and marketing project timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign results, sales activity, customer feedback, survey findings, and market research.
  • High level of professionalism, executive presence, sound judgment, organization, attention to detail, and collaborative leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, public relations, journalism, sales, or a related field required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
