Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide leadership to: Multimedia Specialists and Curriculum Developer
  • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget are met
  • Develop detailed project plans and use tools to track progress, adjusting as needed.
  • Oversee production of multimedia and curriculum resources, reviewing deliverables and providing constructive feedback while fostering a supportive team environment.
  • Manage, oversee, and review all developed multimedia resources developed by providing constructive feedback on each design and video while offering encouragement and instruction as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, progress tracking, and reporting for leadership.
  • Step in as needed to assist with graphic design, video editing, or other creative tasks to keep projects moving forward.
  • Stay updated on trends in multimedia, design, and distance learning technology to continually improve processes and resources.
  • Manage multimedia rooms and equipment, ensuring tools remain current and effective for training and educational programs.
  • Manage relationships with print vendors and coordinate orders for print materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Communications, Public Health, Health Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in project management, multimedia production, curriculum design, or creative team leadership.
  • Proven experience supervising creative teams (graphic designers, multimedia specialists, curriculum developers).
  • Hands-on skills in graphic design and/or video production; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or similar software strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with health education, nonprofit communications, or low-literacy writing is a plus

The mission of McMillen Health is to provide vital, effective preventive health education that promotes physical, emotional, and social well-being.Founded in 1981, McMillen Health is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and one of fewer than 30 such health education organizations nationwide. McMillen is recognized as the number one resource for health education in the Northern Indiana region – reaching nearly 50,000 youth a year. We are housed in a 16,000 square foot facility with five themed teaching theaters, a 125 seat auditorium, and a Great Hall with various hands-on displays. To date, McMillen has provided fact-based health information and education to over 1.5 million children and teens.We provide 76 programs on general health; safety; HIV/STDs; drug/ alcohol/ tobacco use prevention; nutrition and fitness; human growth and development; bullying prevention, and more. Sample program topics include the Kinderhealth program to teach children about maintaining their health, the Health Adventure program to teach third-graders the four keys of staying healthy, the Balance Your Act program to provide information to middle school students about the health risks and prevention of obesity; and the Breast Self Exam and Testicular Self Exam programs to provide teens with information on the early detection of cancer.In order to best meet the needs of those we serve, McMillen Health offers programs here at our facility, on site at a school or organization within 150 miles, and via interactive videoconferencing (IVC) with up to four classes at once in one of our two state-of-the-art IVC studios.McMillen Health has membership in the (ASHA) American School Health Association and the Northeast Indiana Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (NISTEM) Center.
