Job Summary

Own and streamline NYYS communications with a focus on print, digital, and donor-facing materials that connect programs, events, and fundraising to real outcomes.

  • Ensure consistent visual identity and messaging by aligning with staff, designers, and vendors throughout print, digital, and email workflows.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate print and digital marketing materials for NYYS programs, concerts, auditions, special events, and institutional communications.
  • Help maintain consistency in NYYS’s visual identity, tone, and messaging across public facing materials.
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and organize communications content as needed.
  • Manage basic design timelines, review processes, approvals, printing, and distribution in coordination with staff and vendors.
  • Support the development team with materials for annual fund campaigns, donor recognition, gala marketing, special appeals, sponsorships, and stewardship.
  • Help gather student stories, photos, quotes, and program highlights that demonstrate the impact of donor support.
  • Assist with donor-facing collateral, campaign materials, and event communications.
  • Build, schedule, and send email campaigns for concerts, auditions, programs, events, fundraising, and institutional news.
  • Assist with list segmentation, scheduling, proofreading, testing, and basic performance tracking.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure email content is accurate, timely, and relevant.

Requirements

  • Experience in marketing, communications, arts administration, nonprofit communications, or related fields.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, projects, and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, artists, students, families, donors, vendors, venues, and external partners.

Preferred

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Neon, and basic project management platforms preferred.
  • Interest in music, arts education, youth development, or nonprofit work preferred.

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • NYYS offers a hybrid workplace environment, with staff generally working in the office three days per week and remotely on other days.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days of employment, as well as access to a 403(b)-retirement plan with company vesting after two years.
  • Some evening and weekend work will be required around concerts, board meetings, kickoff weekends, and other major organizational events.
  • NYYS observes typical federal holidays and provides two weeks off during the holiday season.
  • The organization also maintains summer Fridays beginning in June.
