Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight : Lead the design, implementation, monitoring, modification, and evaluation of assigned program or department operations. Ensure all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Contract and Proposal Management: Write proposals, negotiate, and secure contracts with county, state, and federal agencies, as well as other funding sources, as assigned.
  • Administrative and Financial Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders on administrative and financial matters, assist with marketing efforts, and build relationships with external partners.
  • Representation and Advocacy: Serve as an agency representative at internal and external meetings, promotional events, workgroups, and professional organizations.
  • Elected Official Relations: Maintain up-to-date contacts for all local and district elected officials that represent geographic areas that the agency serves. Ensure elected officials are aware of and included in communications related to Agency events and Agency impact.
  • Team Leadership & Supervision: Hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate department staff, including the Marketing Coordinator. Facilitate team meetings, staff training, and workgroups to support operational consistency and professional growth.
  • Organizational Leadership: Represent the program or department in leadership meetings, committees, and workgroups, contributing to agency-wide initiatives and budget development.
  • Department Specific Execution
  • - Implement the Agency marketing and communications strategy.
  • - Agency & Leadership Showcasing: Actively research, pursue, and secure strategic community opportunities—such as panel discussions, awards, professional speaking engagements, community forums, and thought-leadership platforms—to showcase and position the agency, its leadership, and its staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of successful, progressive, communication and marketing experience, preferably for a non-profit organization, including knowledge of and/or experience with website development, annual reports, newsletters, social media, and agency promotion.
  • Knowledge and experience in the following areas is required: the nature and dimensions of philanthropy, ethics, motivations for giving, research and cultivation practices, writing, special events, designing direct mail solicitations, and written materials for social media campaigns.
  • The position requires demonstrated experience in managing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan, attracting volunteers, and generating donor interest.
  • Knowledge of Council of Accreditation Standards (COA).
