Job Summary

Own and optimize the social content lifecycle from creation to distribution, collaborating with editorial and video teams to build engaging, social-first content and using analytics to grow audiences.

Responsibilities

Content Creation and Collaboration: Capture, produce, and edit social media content, including events, interviews, on-camera segments, and short-form videos; work with editorial, design, and video teams to create engaging, social-first content.
Publishing: Use analytics to optimize strategy, and publish content across social platforms.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2-5 years of digital and/or social media experience, preferably with at least one major role at a news organization
Proven ability to build and grow audiences for entertainment content via social media, particularly among younger audiences
Impeccable news judgment, prioritization, writing and editing skills
Calm under pressure of breaking news
A strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask
A strategic thinker who considers analytics before making decisions
An idea generator who can think of new, fresh ways to package content
Excellent people skills
Experience with SEO, content management systems, analytics tools, Photoshop
