Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Attend designated cohort and Honors & Scholars program events throughout the academic year to capture high-quality photographs.
  • Take candid and posed photos that reflect student engagement, community building, leadership development, and program participation.
  • Submit edited, organized, and appropriately labeled photo files within established timelines following events.
  • Identify and recommend photos suitable for use on program social media accounts, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Obtain information regarding photo permissions as directed by program staff and follow university guidelines regarding student privacy and image usage.
  • When unable to attend an event, coordinate with cohort peers who are in attendance to obtain photographs and secure permission for program use.
  • Communicate regularly with Honors & Scholars staff regarding upcoming events, content needs, and photography coverage.
  • Represent the program professionally and positively in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be a current first-year (for one position) or sophomore student (for one position) in good standing with Impact Scholars.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to capture clear, engaging photographs using a smartphone or camera.
  • Reliable, organized, and responsive communicator.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow instructions.
  • Comfortable interacting with peers and requesting photo contributions when necessary.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for supporting the Impact Scholars community.

Preferred

  • Experience with photography, social media content creation, or graphic design.
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or other social media platforms.
  • Basic photo editing skills using mobile or desktop applications.
