Job Summary

Job Description

Responsibilities

Partner with the VP, Marketing & Communications to evolve and steward The Moth's brand voice, positioning, and visual identity across all audience-facing channels.
Identify opportunities to increase The Moth's cultural relevance through partnerships, timely storytelling, and brand moments that introduce new audiences to our work.
Lead integrated marketing campaigns for live events, podcasts, national initiatives, fundraising moments, and organizational priorities—from strategic brief through execution, optimization, and reporting.
Develop creative briefs that translate business goals and audience insights into compelling campaigns.
Ensure consistent messaging, storytelling, and creative excellence across every platform and market.
Manage campaign budgets and partner with leadership to allocate marketing investments for maximum impact

Requirements

7+ years of experience developing integrated brand campaigns across owned, earned, and paid channels.
Exceptional strategic writing and messaging skills, with demonstrated experience shaping brand voice and creative direction.
Experience marketing live events, media, entertainment, arts, or cultural experiences, with a strong understanding of audience acquisition and conversion.
Experience managing paid media campaigns directly or through agency partners.
Proficiency in email marketing platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred) and a strong grasp of email strategy and segmentation
Fluency with digital analytics tools, including social media insights and Google Analytics; ability to read data and draw actionable marketing insights
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; ability to develop compelling creative briefs and articulate strategic recommendations
Outstanding project management skills and the ability to lead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends and to travel periodically, as required by The Moth’s live event schedule.
Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Experience in the nonprofit arts, media, entertainment, or public media.
Experience with audio or podcast audience development, or working with media distributors
Experience managing agency relationships and creative production.
Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
Familiarity with Airtable or similar project management tools
A genuine passion for storytelling, live performance, public media, or building brands that matter.
