Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy - Identify high leverage content opportunities - Develop channel positioning - Build playlist strategies - Identify audience awareness levels - Prioritize topics that support business goals - Help clients niche down where appropriate - Recommend content sequencing
  • Packaging - Develop titles, hooks and thumbnail copy before writing. Think through: - Why would someone click? - What question are they trying to answer? - What tension exists? - What assumption are we challenging? - What curiosity gap are we creating? - What promise are we making?
  • Script Writing - Write 7 to 12 minute YouTube outlines & scripts that: - Hook immediately - Maintain curiosity with open loops - Explain complex medical topics simply - Apply direct-response thinking to educational content, structuring ideas for momentum, comprehension, and action - Sound conversational - Feel natural when spoken - Avoid unnecessary jargon - Keep viewers watching
  • Research - Medical literature - Competing videos - Patient language - Market awareness - Common objections - Search intent - Healthcare trends - …while remaining grounded in evidence.
  • Client Collaboration - Lead strategy conversations with clients. - Interview them. - Challenge assumptions. - Extract stories. - Refine positioning. - Gain buy in around channel direction. - Coach clients toward stronger content decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement - Review video performance. - Identify patterns. - Refine future topics. - Improve packaging. - Improve retention. - Improve scripts based on viewer behavior.

Requirements

  • Strong Healthcare Background You have significant experience working in, writing about or communicating complex health topics.
  • You understand medical terminology, conventional and natural health perspectives, patient concerns and the importance of accurate, evidence-based communication.
  • Relevant backgrounds may include: - Healthcare marketing - Medical or scientific writing - Experience as a clinician or health practitioner - Patient education - Ghostwriting for health experts - Medical communications - Healthcare journalism - Experience interviewing subject matter experts - Experience working with physicians, practices or healthcare brands
  • Exceptional Conversational Writing You naturally write the way people speak. Your scripts sound effortless when read aloud and can be adapted to reflect different clients' personalities and speaking styles.
  • You understand that a technically correct sentence can still sound unnatural when spoken.
  • Strategic and Editorial Judgment You do not simply complete the assigned topic. You ask: - Should we make this video? - Is this genuinely interesting? - Is the angle strong enough? - Is the topic meaningfully different from what we have already published? - Is the information useful or merely obvious? - Does this idea support the client's broader positioning? You can identify the strongest idea, remove what does not belong and build the video around one clear promise.
  • Audience and Packaging Instincts You understand the difference between the topic, the intended viewer and the packaging used to attract that viewer. You can identify: - Who the video is for - Their level of awareness - What they already understand - What they are worried about - What they are curious about - What would make them click - What promise the video must fulfill You ensure that the title, thumbnail, opening hook and actual content remain aligned.
  • Retention and Storytelling Instincts You understand how to unfold information rather than dump it all at once. You can use: - Curiosity gaps - Open loops - Escalating stakes - Pacing - Tension - Pattern interruptions - Delayed reveals - Payoffs You know when to answer a question and when to hold the answer long enough to keep the viewer engaged without becoming manipulative or frustrating.
  • Ability to Simplify Complexity You can quickly understand complicated subjects, identify what matters most to the intended viewer and explain it in clear, conversational language without oversimplifying or introducing inaccuracies.
  • Research and Interviewing Skills You are comfortable entering unfamiliar areas of health, researching them responsibly and asking experts detailed questions until you truly understand their perspective. You know the difference between gathering information and uncovering what is actually interesting.
