Job Summary

Lead the Connecticut wholesale marketing program, from strategy to in-store activation and co-op partnerships.

  • Own account-based wholesale plans and co-op placements with retail partners.
  • Must-have: 3–5 years in wholesale/trade or shopper marketing, plus cannabis industry experience.
  • Standout: Builder mindset with proven ability to launch playbooks and events.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Build account-based marketing plans with the Sales team that tie directly to revenue and brand growth.
  • Design and run a paid co-op merchandising program across Connecticut wholesale accounts-paid cases, billboards, eblasts, SMS, store takeovers, co-branded budtender apparel.
  • Lead events and activations from concept to on-site execution, including account launches, 4/20, 7/10, and partner programs.
  • Own shopper marketing inside Connecticut partner dispensaries: in-store merchandising, displays, menu presence, and budtender engagement.
  • Launch new products into wholesale with sell-in kits, brand presentations, and in-store activation plans.
  • Protect brand standards for Asteroid, Borealis, Loud, and our emerging brands across every wholesale touchpoint.
  • Measure everything-sell-in, sell-through, event ROI, co-op participation-and report results monthly.
  • This is not a role for someone looking to maintain an existing program. This is a builder's seat. You'll stand up playbooks, launch events, negotiate co-op placements with retail partners, and build the wholesale marketing function for Connecticut from the ground up.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of marketing experience, with meaningful time in wholesale, trade, shopper, or field marketing.
  • Cannabis industry experience (operator, MSO, brand, or agency-side).
  • Strong events and activations chops-you've run them, not just managed vendors who did.
  • Shopper marketing experience inside retail environments.
  • Project management muscle: multiple launches, accounts, and events in parallel without things slipping.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and cannabis platforms (Dutchie, Jane, Weedmaps, Leafly a plus).
  • Willingness to travel within Connecticut.
  • Must be 21+ and able to pass a background check per state cannabis regulations.

Preferred

  • Experience standing up or scaling a co-op / paid merchandising program with dispensary or retail partners.
  • CPG trade marketing background outside of cannabis (beverage, spirits, beauty, specialty food).
  • Established relationships with Connecticut dispensary buyers or operators.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and cannabis-industry perks.
